Stock, out-of-the-box as a ready-to-run (with bushings) the truck runs about 18-20 mph. If you get this truck (#1806) it comes with the radio system and an XL-1 electronic speed control. This is a good setup for bashing and crashing around, it's a tough truck. There's another version that comes as a kit that you assemble, it's #1802. It has no radio and comes with the resistor-type speed control. I bought the kit so I could build the truck with ball-bearings and a better electronic speed control. I used the Novak Rooster forward/reverse ESC that was available in 1989 when I built the truck. With a 7-cell battery and an Astro Cobalt Turbo 05 motor, the truck would run about 40mph. It was really the best all-around fun truck I owned. I had RC10's converted to trucks, Blackfoot trucks, Stampedes, and a Traxxas Bullet converted to a truck, none were as fun up in the hills. The Sledge has a 3.75:1 transmission, and it could just about climb straight up. I'm currently trying to piece one back together, but parts are tough to locate. <E>
