Depends on what the 305 is in, a 305 camaro engine needs like a 9 tooth starter because the fly wheel is 12.75 inches in diameter with 50 some teeth. A 305 in a Chevy half ton will have like a ten tooth starter for the 14.25 inch diameter flywheel that has like 60 some teeth. All 305 engines before 1986 are the same they did have different flywheels for what ever Chevy put them in. 1986 and newer 305's had different cranks the flywheel bolts up different on a 1986 305 compared to a 1983 305.
ANYTHING will fit into a 1983 Caprice Classic. Are you asking if it will bolt up to the tranny?

"Bombay rockers are usually made up of thick and sturdy wood, such as oak or cherry. You can ask for them to be custom made for you in any type of wood you want."
The impala ss LT1 did not come from the factory with roller rockers, they came with stamped steel rockers. If you are installing roller rockers in yours, the common advise is to go 1/2 turn after 0 lash, when the pushrod no longer moves up and down.
Most newer cars have either a Idler pully that cant be adjusted>needs replaced. easy> And some older cars tighten by looseing the alternator and adusting that way, pull back till tight, while holding, tighten bolt back up.
With the valve fully closed and the lifter fully at the down position, tighten the adjusting nut until there is no up and down travel in the push rod. Then tighten the adjusting nut 1/4 turn. This is only if you have hydraulic lifters. Tighten the rocker studs to 50 ft/lb of torque. These are the bolts holding the rocker assembly in place.
Tighten Up - Electronic song - was created in 1991.
