multiply the number of cylinders you have by 2. normally only 4 cylinder and some 6 cylinder engines have 4 valves per cylinder. if in doubt remove the valve cover and count the number of rockers or cam lobes if it is an overhead cam engine. easiest way to find out for sure is to look your specific engine up on the web.
can you tell me the location of the coolant temperuture on a 1996 f150 4.9 six cylinder engine
Give your VIN to the dealership and they will tell you. Have a nice day.

Valves control the in-flow and out-flow of fuel, air and exhaust fumes in a combustion engine (known as intake valves and exhaust valves). A 4-cylinder engine with 16 valves will have 4 valves per cylinder, with two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder. With experience it is easy to tell the sounds of the valves apart because each engine sounds different with different valves. Generally the less number of valves means a deeper/throatier sound from the cars and vice-versa
i dont know u tell me
No idea! If anyone knows how to do this please tell!
The best way to tell if the valves are closed is to observe the rocker arms. When they are both at the top of their travel, valves are closed. Feel the rocker arms and try to move them, if they move their at the top of their travel.
