It requires a visit to a programmer.
Voids the warranty though.
It does not have a governor. Speed is computer controlled, by either a rev limiter or fuel shutoff.
To turn off the speed limiter on a Renault Megane TomTom, locate the speed limiter control on the steering wheel or stalk. Press the button or toggle the switch to deactivate the speed limiter function. You may see an indicator light on the dashboard confirming that the speed limiter is off. Always consult your vehicle's manual for specific instructions related to your model.
It's Limited to 155mph, but modern mechanics did an article about them taking it up to the salt flats and taking the limiter off, it managed 175mph
You do not have a governor, you have a Rev Limiter. At a preset RPM the computer cuts back on the fuel supply. The computer will have to be reprogrammed. yes you have to buy a programmer and set the speed rateing for your tires and it will go up to 200
I believe the factory top speed is 145 with the limiter. If you take it off though im sure it will easily top 150. It is 162 without the limiter removed
The so called governor is a rev limiter that is part of the computer and can not be replaced. You may find someone to reprogam it.
because they are computer speed limited to a 100 but if you take it to a shop they can turn off the limiter
call summit racing and order a high performance computer programmer for your car to reprogram the computer.
You can not remove it, but you can change out the CDI box. http://www.magnumtuning.com/en/detail/revolution-pro-atv-speed-rev-limiter-cdi-box/john-deere/gator-xuv620efi/atv
you dont
By reprogramming the ECM parameters.
you do not need to remove the governor off the camaro because the 89's do not have them. they didn't start puting governors on cars until 96.
