One (1) each on the cam and crank gears and on the outer timing case.
Timing gears are set by removing the front timing cover and bringing the engine up to top dead center on the compression stroke of #1 cylinder. There are marks on the camshaft gear and the crankshaft gear which need to be lined up. This is a timing chain and gear set up. If you are asking to just adjust your timing, you need to hook up a timing light to #1 spark plug wire and have a mark on the harmonic balancer. To adjust timing, simply loosen the distributor and turn it slightly until proper timing is achieved.
consult chilton's manual for accurate specs
Read the instructions that come with the new timing chain and gears. Generally, you would install the gears so that when the engine is #1 TDC the timing mark on the big gear is straight down and the timing mark on the smaller gear is straight up. There is an exception in that some model years have both timing marks in the 12 o'clock position.
with no.1 cylinder at top dead center, line up the mark on the cam gear with the mark on the crank, and install the timing chain.
Rotate #1 cylinder to top dead center. set the cam gears to factory specs. Install belt. Set the belt tentioner to specs. Reinstall everything.
bring number 1 cyldenr to top dead center before installing gears bring number 1 cyldenr to top dead center before installing gears bring number 1 cyldenr to top dead center before installing gears
If you are installing the Distributor, #1 cylinder must be at TDC / Top Dead Center on the COMPRESSION stroke. If you are installing Timing chain and gears everything will be correct when you line up the dots on the 2 gears.
timing is set on a ZX2 by finding top dead center (TDC) on cylinder number 1 and aligning the cams. Once this is done, properly set the tensioner. TDC can be located by using a crankshaft locking tool. the cams can be aligned by inserting a flat piece of steel into the slot on the ends of the cams opposite the end with the cam gears.

connect timing light to #1 cly. notice timing mark on cyl block. should read +12de -12 degrees on passenger side. also notice mark on crankshaft belt pulley. use timing light to set time 6 degrees befour top dead center
Injector timing on b6000 is adjusted by adding or subtracting shims under the injector pump. Timing should be set with fly wheel timing mark on cyclinder #1
