I just did this. Open the box and then you will see 2 screws on the inside of the removable piece. Unscrew them, but realize that the insides come out. No big deal, as they only go back together one way. The wheels inside are moveable, and they set on whatever letter you aim towards the pointer (you will notice a raised plastic pointer).

Simply take out the alphabet wheels, and then put them back in (with the metal slides between them), and your new combo is whatever the pointer is pointing at. And remember, you go past the second letter when turning the combo to open the box.

Tip: Make it easier by only changing the first 2 wheels (which are the last 2 letters). So for example, dig > dam. And of course test the combo several times before reinstalling.
