i assume you are referring to the fan clutch nut? you need two tools, there is one that has two pins that hold the water pump pulley, and either a fan clutch wrench or a big adjustable wrench, you hold it with the pulley holder and give a quick whack to the wrench to unseat it, then it usually unscrews by hand. I suggest removing the fan shroud first obviously.

Drain down the radiator using a large clean drain pan. Remove top half of fan shroud. Remove accessory drive belt. Remove fan assembly. Remove water pump pulley. Remove lower half of fan shroud. Take out the fan cover, then remove fan, then the hoses, then the water pump. you can do everything from the top.
