in most grease guns there is a cartridge. this cartridge is removed by unscrewing the grease gun part from the body. The handle can be pulled back and locked to one side. remove the old paper cartridge and replace it with the new one that you have purchased from NAPA or Auto Zone. Grease comes in a variety of flavors so depending on what you are doing chose the correct grease for that purpose
