The 4.6 has two coils, bothlocated on the front of the engine, one on each side
Thay are between the valve covers and the intake. Thay are under the coils, take the coils loose and raise it up off of the plugs. It has a coil for every spark plug.
The cylinder #s look like this if u stand in front of the hood 1 3 5(Firewall side/Rear coils)2 4 6(Close to the radiator- front coils)

The ignition module is located under the three ignition coils. The same bolts that hold the coils in place also retain the module to the mounting bracket. To find the coils, follow the ignition wires from the front of the engine to where they attach at the rear. The wires clip to the coils.

CoilsEasy. The front three coils are under the plastic 3000 badge on the front cylinder head. There is a single 10mm bolt holding in each coil. Once the bolt is removed disconect the wire attached to the the top, and the coil comes out. The rear coils are not under anything, but are harder to get to with all the other stuff back there.
