You can't put down the back seat in a first-generation Oldsmobile Aurora -- at least not easily. It's not designed to be folded down. There is, however, a panel behind the center armrest of the rear seat that folds forward, creating an opening that allows long. skinny items to protrude from the trunk into the passenger compartment.
You just pull the seat up. To put it back in, just put it in place and push it down and should clamp in place.
