as long as you place the positive to the positive and the negative to the frame of the car with the good battery, you can jump start any car.

If you have plenty of power in your battery to start your engine and everything seems fine except for the check engine light, try disconnecting your (red) positive battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect it and see if this reboots your computer. If the check engine light does not go off then, have a mechanic look at it.
The Black & Decker JUS500IB is probably one of the most reliable battery jump starters. It's small but can recharge most any dead battery. It has 500 amperes of power, which is sufficient for most car batteries. It comes with an air compressor that you can use continuously to maintain proper tire pressure. It has a standard safety switch can be turned on and off as necessary. It is a very safe battery jump starter.
The Wintec 500 Jump Saddle is made out of Equileather.
To calculate the amps for a jump starter with 500 watts, you can use the formula: Amps = Watts / Volts. If assuming a standard 12-volt car battery, the calculation would be 500 watts / 12 volts = 41.67 amps.
The battery in the SL500 is located in the trunk. There is a positive jump port under the hood and you can use any other metal under the hood as a ground. Mercedes Puts the battery in the trunk to reduce possability of an acid spill in an accident.
Our original battery had to be replaced about 4 months ago (we have a 2005 500). The battery showed it was fully charged --- but it wasn't. This was the original battery that came in the car. You might take the battery out and take it and have it professionally checked at a parts store. We thought something else was wrong with the car since it wouldn't turn over, but it turned out to just be the battery.
2004 polaris sportsman 400 has new starter, battery and selenoid but still won't start what else can it be
42cm to 44cm
Any battery with at least 300 CCA will start the engine. If you live in a very cold climate then buy a battery that fits with the largest CCA you can find. I would recommend at least 500 CCA.
