its very simple first lift up the truck then take the tire off once you have the tire off the take the caliper off with either a 13 mm or a 10 mm hex then proceded to removed the bracket thet holds the caliper with an 18 mm now you can removed the rotor now take loose the lower bolt join and the upper boltjoint "dont take the nuts al the way out leave them at flust with the boltjoin thread" now get a floorjack under the lower control arm be very carefull this springs has a lot of tension now take the nuts all the way out and hit hard with a hammer on the side of the boltjoin to loose it up now loose the pressure off the jack and you should be ready to get the spring out.
no it does not it has what is called torsion bars instead. Yes it does have coil springs the four wheel drives have torsion bars the c in front of 1500 means 2 wheel drive a k in front means four wheel drive

Remove the positive battery cable from your 1988 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new starter.
That can be a very dangerous task. You will have to have a coil spring compressor. Jack up the car and use jack stands and NOT cinder blocks. Remove the wheel. Remove the shock absorber. Install the spring compressor through the opening and compress the spring. Put a hydraulic jack under the lower control arm. Take the lower ball joint loose and slowly lower the jack. Remove the spring and slowly release the tension until the spring is extended. Remove the compressor and install it on the new spring. Insert the spring back into the cavity and jack the lower control arm back in place and connect the ball joint. I truly do NOT recommend that you do this. It will be cheaper and safer to have a shop that specializes in front end repairs to do it for you.
