A experienced ear can usually identify the type of problem just by the sound.
To Narrow down the location try:because its either cold and not warmed up or you lifters are knocking but the would be a louder knocking sound
it was meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Mine did the same, mine was a motor mount.
Perhaps a worn CV joint (usually more of a clicking sound when turning), but there are many components in the front end of a motor vehicle that could cause a knocking (or similar) sound, including suspension components, brakes, steering components and bearings. Worn tie rods, by the way, do not normally cause a knocking sound, but result in very loose feeling steering and noticeable drift, especially at highway speeds. A knocking sound is more likely to be an engine problem, such as pre-ignition. If you are not accustomed to diagnosing these sounds, you will best best off to see a qualified mechanic, or a friend who is more familiar with the front-end components of a motor vehicle.
Possible cam chain tensioner has broke.these tensioners are none adjustable and sometimes brake causing a knocking sound in the motor
Most likely your motor is low on oil and is knocking from being over heated.

I had a popping/rolling sound whenever I would take off or slow down in my '04 pacifica. I took it to a dealer and they said my motor mount was cracked in 2 places sending a vibration throughout the frame of the vehicle. Replaced the motor mount and the popping.rolling sound has gone away.
I read that bad motor mounts can cause this knocking sound
A loud knocking noise in the motor of a car at high speeds is most likely the engine. There could be another issue with the transmission if the knocking only happens at high speeds.
Sounds like there may be trash in there..drop the blower motor out,get the debris out, put it back in...simple job...
it all depends on the loudness and where the sound is coming from, it can range from a loose bolt to bad connecting rod bearings
