ok this sounds like a tranny cable wire - on your throttle body their is a plastic piece that holds the cable on the throttle that probably fell out -put a metal clip to hold the wire and if you can make sure the wire is set right to shift the tranny DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR YOU WILL FRY THE TRANSMISSION! This happened to my car and I lost my overdrive gear and the shop said i would probably lose my other gears but i have been driving about 200 miles ever couple weeks for 3 or 4 months now with no problems
