Rubbing alcohol. or "Acetone" which is the main substance in fingernail polish remover. Most discount drug stores sell it for about 1/4 the price of acetone in a hardware or auto store. Some times there are instructions for mixing it with water to make a window cleaning solution. The problem using it full strength is that it may damage rubber moldings or paint. I use it full strength and I am careful to not get it on anything but the glass. There are inks and other substances that alcohol will not cut. Acetone makes glass look like it did when it was new. Don't breath in the vapors and be careful not to spill it , get it on rubber, plastic or paint. Use cotton cloth or rags. Slightly dampen don't saturate. It evaporates quickly so cloth must be dampened often.
