I recently change my brake pads on my 2002 C230. There is a brake sensor that you also need to change, my sales person told me that there is 1 on each wheel, NO there is Not. It is a small piece of plastic attached to 2 very small wires with a plug on it, total size under 4" long. When this sensor is changed the indicator light should go out.

It is an indicator light to signify a door is open.
