To fold down the rear seats in a 2006 Chevy Malibu when the trunk is locked, you can access the release mechanism through the rear passenger doors. Pull the seat release levers located on the top of the seatbacks to fold them down. If the trunk lock is preventing access to the trunk area, ensure that the doors are unlocked, as the seats may be designed to fold down only when the doors are open. If the seats still won't fold, check for any obstructions or malfunctions in the release mechanism.
