To fix the trunk switch in a 2007 Pontiac G6, first, check the fuse related to the trunk release; if it's blown, replace it. If the fuse is intact, inspect the switch itself for any visible damage or dirt. You may need to remove the switch from the dashboard and test it with a multimeter to ensure it's functioning properly. If the switch is faulty, replacing it should resolve the issue.
The trunk light and beeping is controlled by a switch in the trunk. The switch is located in the housing for the trunk latch. Repair the switch circuit to fix the problem.
it seem to be the trunk plastic is broke and I have brought the the part and wont to fix it
The simple fix is to remove the bulb from the trunk light. The more complicated fix is to find out why it is staying on. More than likely the switch is bad.
To fix the trunk of a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, first check the trunk latch and hinges for any obstructions or damage. If the latch is malfunctioning, lubricate or replace it, and ensure the key fob or manual release is functioning properly. If the trunk won't open from the inside or outside, you may need to access the latch mechanism through the rear seat to manually release it. Finally, inspect the wiring for any issues if the electronic components aren't working.
Check the release fuse first. Then check the relay, and the switch. If these are all ok, then check the solenoid at the release inside of the trunk.
I own a 2007 pontiac grand prix. Had this same issue. No recall has been done by the company; however, after many visits to the shop to resolve this very scarry issue - the switch was replaced (turn signal/light adjustment) This seemed to fix the problem.
the driver's door should only be opened and the trunk, then rock the switch and see how that works
Read your manual. There is a switch in the glove box to disable the trunk release button on the dash. you lock the glove box with the regular key. When you give someone the valet key they can not get in the trunk.
Battery in 2003 s430 sedan changed last Sunday now trunk only opens half way tried the toggle of the automatic switch in the door but that did not fix the problemhow can this be fixed?
To fix the trunk release on a 2005 Jaguar X-Type, first, check the fuse related to the trunk release system, as a blown fuse can prevent it from functioning. If the fuse is intact, inspect the trunk release switch for damage or disconnection, and test the wiring for continuity. If the switch and wiring are fine, it may be necessary to examine the trunk latch mechanism for any mechanical issues or misalignment. If these steps don't resolve the problem, consulting a professional mechanic or service manual may be needed for further diagnosis.
The switches from the 1987 - 1989 Chevrolet Corsica and Pontiac Tempest should be compatible. I
make sure to check the "trunk security" switch inside the trunk. it is located on the drivers side of the trunk and needs to be in the on position (press the side of the switch with the car drawn on it). if the off position is pressed the interior trunk release switch won't work and the remote button on your keychain will only work when the motor is off. this has been an anoyance of mine for months and i finally read the owners manual.... hope this helps.
