its a seeled tranny you can check it and you cant
you can check it because theres a plug on the side of the tranny you take that out and you can check it that way if its dripping out then its full
you cant check it because theres no dipstick
It requires a special tool (the dipstick) that only a dealer has.
The fluid level in the trans is very temperature specific. The dealer uses his scan tool to check fluid temperature, compares it to a chart, and then knows how far up the dipstick the fluid level should be.The fluid level in the trans is very temperature specific. To check the transmission fluid on a 2008 Chevy Cobalt, first ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is running. Locate the transmission dipstick, which is usually near the back of the engine compartment, and pull it out. Wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level, which should be between the "full" and "add" marks. If the fluid is low, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
