Depends on what you have. Some cars have a dipstick for the Transmission Fluid, just like they do for the engine oil. You pull it out, wipe it off, reinsert it, then pull it back out and check the fluid level. Those which don't, then you have to get under the vehicle, undo the fill plug (it's on the side of the transmission, not on the bottom - that's the drain plug), stick your finger in, and check to see that the fluid level is just to the bottom of the fill plug.
The power steering fluid check is found at the end of the power steering belt. If you are unable to locate it, kindly consult the user manual.
Owner's manual.
All brands of steering fluid are pretty much made the same. Check your automobile's manual to see if there is a certain type of steering fluid that can only be used. If not, then the brand does not matter.
On the right center area when the hood is open, there is a fluid cap with what looks to be a steering wheel on it. That is where you add the Power Steering fluid. Check your Owners/Operators Manual for a picture of it.
It's either transmission fluid or power steering fluid. Some fords use transmission fluid for the power steering. Check both fluid levels as per your owners Manual
Could be you slosh the fluid to one side of the reservor in the turn; but I think that would only matter if the fluid level inthe reservor were pretty low. Check the fluid level and fill with reccomended fluid (call dealer if you don't know) and check to see if the power steering still goes out in a turn. Check for leakage of power steering fluid. Some times some one forget to put the cap back on and the fluid sloshes out... these caps can be had at most auto parts stores. Go buy a Haynes Automotive Service Manual for your vehicle and check your local library for On-line resources for auto repair info. Basically.................price!!! It's safe to use Trans Fluid for Power Steering Fluid, they are both hydraulic oil/fluids.........but make sure to check your owners manual.
Check the owner's manual to see if it specifies any specific type of fluid you need to use, if not, any type of power steering fluid should be fine.
kia service manual does not specify the capacity of power steering fluid. Just keep adding and then run , stop check power steering dip stick, Read if necessary.
Check the manual. Full diagrams of 2005 engines and locations of parts.
The manual states GM power steering fluid DOT 3
You add the type of manual transmission fluid specified in your owner's manual - nothing else.
