If you're asking how to change the condenser, it is under the rotor. Remove cap and rotor, remove condenser wire from contact set (either held in place with a screw or spring tension), remove the screw that holds the condenser bracket ( magnet or screw starter is very helpful), then reverse procedure to install new condenser.
Ignition condensers went out with the ignition points in the early 1970's.

How do I replace an Ignition in a 1970 Maverick
To replace the ignition switch in a 1970 Chevy Nova, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing any screws or bolts, then locate the ignition switch, which is usually mounted on the column. Detach the wiring harness from the old switch, unscrew it from its mounting position, and install the new switch in reverse order. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the new ignition switch to ensure it functions properly.
There are contributing factors, however, about 6 degrees advanced or BTDC., should work best.
MSD Ignition was created in 1970.
No. not the same.
1.Faulty ignition coil 2.Ignition points(if so equiped) are not opening or closing properly. 3.Faulty condenser 4. Interuption of voltage from primary ignition feed from starter switch. 5. Hot wire to batt. side of coil originating from hi-drain source such as starter terminal. 6.Faulty rotor, rotor cap, coil to rotor cap wire and or terminals.7. Moisture in cap and or terminals..........for starters.......no pun intended
