The 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.2 liter engine drive belt diagram can be found in the owners manual. The belt diagram can also be obtained from most auto-parts stores, when you purchase the belt.
There is no fan belt. The fan is hydraulically controlled. Are you asking about the main drive/accessory belt?
probably a loose or streched drive belt. also the drive pulley could be loose. the main thing wrong is that it is a craftsman. my experience with craftsman products has been very unhappy, they are starting to make junk. try a John Deere product the next time you will be glad you did.
Ever wonder what the main color of a John Deere tractor is? The main color of a John Deere tractor is green with yellowish wheels but there are many custom painted John Deere tractor's varying in color.
yes your timing is off
The main drive belt/chain may be broken or jammed.
By timnig belt are you talking about the main drive belt that runs all the accessories and the water pump on the front of the engine. If this is the belt get a 15mm wrench with a long handle (24"). put this on the take up pulley on the front of the engine and pull it over to take the tension off the belt. A picture of how the belt is run is in front of the engine as you open the hood. After removing the old belt replace with the new belt using the picture as a guide. Make sure the new belt is seated on all the pullies before you start the engine.
It dampens crankshaft vibrations on your main drive pully for the serpentine belt. It's an inner steel wheel bolted to the crankshaft, with a rubber bushing, then the actual crankshaft drive pully on the outside of that. Without it you would likely loose your belt, or wear it out prematurely.
