you shouldn't have to change them unless they are leaking, blown, or you take the heads off for a repair or rebuild

if you are going to replace the intake gasket you might as well change the head gaskets at the same time[it will cost you a little now but save you a lot later

You will need to drain the oil from your 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora oil pan. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts. Remove the oil pan gasket and clean the surface. Put the new gasket on and reverse the process.

The latch itself is held on with bolts, easy enough to change. The release cable has to be fed down the inside of the rocker panel and into the trunk.
