On the turn signal lever, slide the cruise control switch to on with thumb(there are 3 possitions here, off, on, reset slide in that order). Drive up to the desired speed and press the signal lever on the center with your index finger, this will set the speed. When safe, release pedal and feel for reaction from the car itself. The Camaro will slow down slightly but will almost immediately regain speed if the cruise control engaged properly.
Pressing the brake dis engages the cruise control. Sliding the switch to reset will reset the set speed and in the camaro this may come as a shock if the vehicle has much speed to make up like from 40 mph to 80. Be careuful.
There is no kick down cable on a 2002 Silverado. You TCM (transmission control module) controlls downshifts. Also, the cruise control, has a module that does it's thinking and is non-ajustable.

The cruise control fuse for a 2002 Protege is under the dash in the fuse panel. It is a 10 amp fuse and is listed as "meter fuse."
The 99-2002 camaro 3.8 V6 doesn't have Idle air control valve. It is drive by wire control. Many of the parts dealers have the wrong data that 95-02 3.8 camaro have the same Idle air control valve location, and sell the wrong part.
The main one for the cruise control is fuse f2.17 It is a 15 amp fuse. I hope that helps.
Yes. I have a 2002 Galant ES. I am not sure about the other models.
