gearbox
Who knows, you haven't said what type the "2.0 litre auto gearbox "is.
You put the oil in the gearbox
On an auto, it's down the dip stick tube. On a manual it goes in the speedo drive hole where it covers the drive teeth and about 5mm above. Don't over fill.
Down the gearbox dipstick hole. If no gearbox dipstick then system is sealed and best left to a dealership
A semi automatic would allow you to shift manually when up shifting for performance. A lot of cars appear to let you do that but, a semi automatic will shift into that gear instantly. Not when it wants to.
change at least every 25,000 auto transmission oil does not last as long as manual gearbox oil, all to do with friction and heat in an auto box, pays to replace filter as well
I'm assuming your connection to your column shifter or console shifter has broken or is removed and you are trying to get the car in drive. On many models, there is a lever on the side of the transmission housing that would be hooked to the shifter mechanism. This manually controls the valve body and selects the gears. You can feel the detents click as you shift through each gear, so just count the number of clicks to get to drive. For example, if the car is in park, and your shifter is P R N D 3 2 1, 1st click is reverses, 2nd is neutral, and 3rd should be drive. You usually will have to be under the car for a longitudinally mounted drivetrain, so you will want to do it while the car is off so you are not run over, or disconnect the driveline, but I recommend with the car off.
Depends on gearbox ( auto or manual ). Front of gearbox a little way up near to bellhousing. Requires hex key.
There is no level indicator on the gearbox. The oil is checked by topping it up.
you use the Manual Xmember ;)
Mounted traversely right behind the engine.
