It sounds like your default homepage has somehow been set to a blank page. Pick another site (such as, for example, the WikiAnswers.com homepage) and go into your Preferences to set it as your new default.
The default tab in Google Chrome is empty. You can set the homepage by selecting the Settings tab.
first open your browser then go to tools. select internet options. there is a tab "main". you can see there homepage and what website it is at default. you can set Facebook as homepage by changing the default homepage and place www dot Facebook dot com or any other website you may wish to set as home page.

When you start safari for the first time, apple.com is loaded as the homepage.
