96 powerstroke is 7.3 liter engine. it has proven to be the most reliable engine that Ford has built. i can personally attest to this. and in actual fact ,yesterday i bought new truck.my old truck was a 96 f350 crew cab dually with the poerstroke. i had 270 thousand miles on it. in the 12 years i had it , i was not kind to it and on the engine i replaced the water pump once and the lfuel lift pump once the powerstroke really is a hard engine to kill. and it was running when i sold it yesterday
