Easytronic is a registered Opel/Vauxhall trademark. The vehicle has a normal manual gearbox, however the clutch has been replaced by an Automatic actuating clutch, which is controlled by the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) So you still have the power loss when the car chances gears. You will also find the vehicle does not have the conventional gear selector/lever choices automatics have, ie: it does not have a Park and drive position.
To start the vehicle: Insert key and turn to on, wait for engine light and Airbag lights to dim. The gear selector/lever has to be in the neutral position, firmly press the brake and start the vehicle. (This is a built in safety feature) With foot still on the brake, select either R-Reverse or A-Auto or M-Manual mode. Depress brake and drive as you would a normal automatic vehicle.
Gear chances: To gear up depress the fuel pedal and pressing it in again as you would with a manual vehicle, except no clutch is involved here. To gear down in auto mode just press fuel pedal down firmer, the vehicle will automaticaly gear down to the efficient gear ratio.
You have to use the same way when using the "tiptronic or manual" function to gear up or down.
Remember the clutch/actuator is still susceptable to wear as a manual clutch and the clutch can be burnt as well.
If you can drive this way you will realize the gear chances will be smooth without great loss of power between gear chances
