Yes.
DeLoreans really do exist, but do not travel through time. As far as we know, that is...
because of the stainless steel body construction the body will not rust. The chassis however can rust and is a common problem with Deloreans
They were fuel injected from the factory. Some replaced with carburettor by owners due to expense of replacing old faulty system.
The company went bankrupt in 1982, so 1983 was the last year of production for the Delorean, sorry. Though, cars built from original stock, new, and reproduction parts are being built by the DeLorean Motor Company (new company with different owners from the original) in Humble, Texas, which also announced plans to sell custom-made electric DeLoreans.
DeLorean Motor Corporation (DeLorean.com) currently sells used DeLoreans for about 45-55k. New ones can be custom modified, because you order them before they are produced. They can cost upwards from about 60k, depending on the performance upgrades you add.
Checker motor company used small blocks, Deloreans had 350's for a while, I also know of many boat versions available. The Datsun 260, and 280z cars were originally slated to run small blocks, but the deal fell through. Many motorhomes were equiped with the SBC, as well. I had a 90 caddy limo, that had a small block in it as well as all GMC trucks ran Chevy motors.
Many many things can be made from alloy. Steel is an alloy. How many things can you think of made from steel?
