u gotta use the clutch m8

If you can still move the gearshift through all the gears even though it does not mave the truck move, it is probably you clutch that has gone out. sloppy gearshift, or no noticeable ability to find where the gears are might be you shifting forks or synchro.
The problem isn't with the truck - it's most likely with the transmission. If previous drivers (or you) have had/have a particularly bad habit of grinding gears, it's going to wear down and/or break the teeth in the transmission gears. That's probably where your problem lies.
Had same problem with mine, if you turn right and it grinds, the left hub bearing is going out and vice versa. The weight of the truck is placed on the bad bearing the opposite way you turn. Should sound like a grind but it is a consistent "noise""quiet""noise""quiet".
Depends on which part of the truck the noise is coming from. Could be an u-joint, a wheel bearing, a failed transfer case......
the noise could be coming from either a bad wheel bearing or something wrong in front axle.
IF THIS IS A POWER WINDOW THE MOTOR IS GOING BAD.IT HAS THE POWER TO PULL THE WINDOW DOWN BUT PUSHING IT UP IS MUCH HARDER FOR THE MOTOR.GEARS COULD ALSO BE THE ISSUE IN THE MOTOR IF IT MAKES A GRINDING NOISE IT IS THE GEARS,IF JUST NOT PUSHING UP THE WINDOW THE MOTOR IS JUST GOING BAD.
Are you Breaking when you get the grinding sound? Or attempting to switch to 4 wheel? Most common grinding sound I know is a worn out brake pad tearing up a rotor. Time for a brake job. New rotors and quality pads can be had for about 150 if you do the labor yourself.
well my bf got a noise violation ticket and it was $237 but the reason he got it was bc he was switching lanes and his truck switched gears and his pipes popped. So some times they can be more but ours wasn't.
I have a 99 1500 had a loud "humming noise" going down the road. after extensive tests and trouble shooting, i found the rear pinion gears were shot. If you can do it safely remove the rear drive shaft plug the hole in the differential, and drive the truck in 4 wheel drive for a short distance if the noise goes away, it is probably the gears in the rear diff.
If the noise changes pitch under acceleration and deacceleration I would suspect the carrier bearings or pinion bearings are shot. If there is no change under acceleration or deacceleration I would suspect an alxe bearing is shot.
Your truck may not shift gears because the transmission sensor is damaged or broken. It also may not shift gears because the transmission or linkage is damaged.
