Look right around the carb, it should screw in right by the carb directly in front of you if you are standing right in front of truck
it is an autolite one barrel carb with dual accelerator pumps
442= 4 bbl. carb, 4 speed tranny, dual exhaust, that was the original meaning of the 442 monogram.
No it was not if your reffering to the oldsmobile cutlass 442 then that stands for, 4 barrel carb, 4 speed, and Dual exhaust.
Instead of using the head of D13B2, use the head of D15B3 instead , which is the carbed version from the D15B2 so the head should fit perfectly on your D15B2 block, you should get the head of the D15B3 and the manifold and the carb, also note that it has a single carb, not dual.
Your pcv valve is buried under the carburators, you can see it sticking out of a smaller black box, it also has a small hose coming out of it. Any more questions on the subject email me. I have an '87 prelude dual carb, I am looking for a quality set of carbs for this car, one of the carbs is running extremely rich.
Not being cute but it is worth whatever someone will pay. You have a valuable engine if it is in good running condition.
The DX has the 1.8 liter dual carb engine whereas the Si has the 2.o litre fuel injected engine.

AW 1975 1800cc - fuel-injected AP 1974/75 1800cc - European only type 3 AN 1974 1800cc - 8.6:1 compression AT 1974 1800cc - European only, dual carb.
no They are different seires of engines one is a ew3 and the other is an a series
The number is on a metal tag that is connected to the carb thru a screw on top that is usually part of the carb assembly and around the gas bowl from the top of the carb and up front. I don't remember but mine was either a thermoquad or a AFB. Mine was a dual exhaust and the letter in the vin number identifying an original dual is T. If it says U it is single exhaust. I put turbo exhaust mufflers from one of those after markett speeed magazines. They were nice and not real loud, just a nice rumble. Good luck
According to Autozone, there wasn't a 302 in 1981. It listed the V8 as a 4.2L = 255. It had a 2bbl carb on it. If it was modified, then it could have a 4bbl carb on it. One of the first things I did with my 82 GT was remove the original carb and intake and replaced with a new Edelbrock Performer dual plain intake and Edelbrock Performer carb 750 to match. It opened it right up, however no normal car needs a 750 carb. A 600 or 650 is optimum for these Mustangs.
