Start by reading aloud three chapters of any Shakespearean play while boiling 55 large white eggs. Put on your mama's underwear, and nothing else, while dancing around your vehicle in circles, waving the dipstick in the air. Open the hood to the vehicle. Sacrifice a small animal on the air cleaner. Now you can slide the dipstick into the opening at the end of the transmission dipstick tube. You're done.

The easiest way to find this out is call your local BMW dealer. Their service department would know exactly where it is. Or, check your owner's manual for clarification.
The transmission dipstick is at the center rear of the engine comparment behind the distributor. This is how you have to fill the transmission fluid as well. DO NOT overfill the transmission fluid, that is the quickest and easiest way to damage a transmission. Transmission fluid is to be checked on a warm engine, idling in park.
its all the way back by the windshield its an orange dipstick
You normally fill the transmission by way of the dipstick tube.
The easiest way to add transmission fluid is thru your transmission dipstick, but you need to fashion a funnel with a plastic tube that fits snugly on the dipstick tube, and you have to pour the fluid slowly. Alternatively, you can unscrew the transmission fill bolt and fill it thru the transmission fill hole, but the bolt is very tight and every time you take it off, you need to install a new pressure washer, plus it's very messy. The bolt is on top of the transmission slightly besides the dipstick. Always change your transmission fluid right while the engine is hot and right after you have shifted the lever thru all the positions. Always use original Honda fluid as this fluid contains special additives.
The Dipstick tube is held in place by 1 bolt. Remove that bolt, pull the tube, insert new one, install bolt.
As far as I know , 2002 and newer 4 door Explorers don't have a transmission dipstick . Ford has a way of checking from under the vehicle = Helpfull
It doesnt have one. Since about 1995 or so, most smaller transmissions have what is called a 'sealed' transmission. You will have to take it to a mechanic you trust to check it out or to the Chevy dealer. The easiest way to make sure it is correct is to take it to a Quick lube and have the transmission serviced.
Best & easiest way to destroy a transmission- atuomatic or manual
Facing the grille - look over the top of the radiator and fan, way down toward (your left) at the bottom of the engine. You should see a small dipstick handle down there. THAT is the transmission dipstick.
Please see and earlier question and answer re: Where is the transmission dipstick on 1990 Honda Accord LX. It may answer your question. By the way, answer is: The dipstick is located at front of transmission, next to the engine block. There is NO TUBE and the dipstick is small - look crefully! Hank.
