Actual class 1 or trophy trucks, they're only RWD (2WD). The power the trucks have, 600+ horsepower... They don't need 4WD or 4x4. They do still get stuck, but not that often. They're more built for the speed, while smaller classes that do have 4x4, don't have the suspension and motor for that, but have the drive train for it.
The PreRunner is not 4WD and is only a RWD truck. Other than not having the 4WD transfer case and front differential it is identical to the 4WD truck. All other parts are the same.
More resistance in the drivetrain when it's in 4WD.
First while your in drive, place the truck into 4wd from 2wd. Then place the truck in neutral. Make sure the truck in in 4wd. Put the truck back into drive and that's that.
Yes
Yes.If you took a RWD truck and turned it into a 4WD, it would consume more gas from the added weight as well as the added friction from the extra parts.
Either one, depending on your situation and need.
Extremely difficult and not cost effective even with a donor vehicle. If you want a 4WD sell this truck and buy a 4WD.
A 1500 is a 1/2 ton truck. A 3500 is a one ton truck. The K represents that it is a 4wd truck so what you've got is a 1 and a 1/2, two wheel 4wd truck. Talk about dumb questions!
Trophy Trucks are typically built to resemble regular pickup trucks. Normally Trophy Trucks are however intended only for off-road racing and are not street legal.
Trophy trucks typically weigh between 5,500 and 7,000 lbs.
