every vehicle has a distibuter. it's what you connect the spark plug wires to other than the spark plugs. It also controls the order the spark plugs fire in.
-Not true. Distributorless (coil on plug or coil near plug) started replacing conventional distributors in the late 80's to early 90's. The engine timing and firing order was then controlled by the computer. Distributors died out by the end of the 90's. A 2000 neon does not have a distributor.
