I do not have a definite answer but I suspect that Audi's and GM cars do share some common brake parts, both manufacturers, in common with others source parts from parts manufacturers catalogues. Some years ago when supplying parts for a racing car manufacturer I used to make hubs and bearing housings that used a wheel bearing that was a part common to Audi and Vauxhall (& therefore Opel) cars. You can purchase GM brakes through your local dealership or from your mechanic or parts store. GM parts can be sold through a parts store as long as GM has allowed the product to be sold in other places instead of just through the dealer.

GM brake pads are a good way to go but they are really no different than any other brand of brake pad. They all do the same thing. I am sure you could get the safety rating from an auto parts store.

Replace the brake pads.
The brake light in the Audi A4 display means there is an issue with the brake system. The most common cause of this warning light is low brake fluid.
