No. They are different, 2000 series are built for a different engine series 5.3L. The electronic controllers are different. Not true. Your not swapping the controllers just the trans. swap the whole thing. tranny is the same from '96 to '05 on the 4l60e since the computer adjusts shifts and ect..
Yes it will as long as the 98 trans is not out of a 4x4. SAMETHING
it might as long as the engine the transmission was originally mounted to wasnt a 2.5 ltr or 2.8. the bell houseing want match from these two engines .a 4.3 ltr transmission might match up to a full size chevy truck .especally if you are matching the trans to a 305,350 motors.
4l60e
The 1995 Chevy Impala SS is equipped with a 4L60E automatic transmission. This transmission is a four-speed, electronic overdrive unit that is commonly used in various GM vehicles from that era. While the 4L60E is the standard transmission for the Impala SS, compatible replacements may include other 4L60E units from similar GM models, as long as they match the specifications and electronic controls.
The transmission type is 4L60E
NO, Not even close.
To rewire a 4L80E transmission harness to work with a 4L60E in a 1996 Chevy Silverado, you'll need to modify the wiring to match the 4L60E's pinout. Start by identifying the connectors and wiring colors for both transmissions, then splice the necessary wires accordingly, ensuring to connect the appropriate power, ground, and signal wires. Pay special attention to the transmission range sensor and shift solenoids, as these will require proper wiring adjustments. Finally, double-check all connections and consider using a wiring diagram for accuracy.
gm says 96 and 97 are a match nothing else they told me. hope this helps.
call auto parts and check part numbers on both years to see if they match.
From 1993 to 2002, the Chevy Camaro offered a 6-speed manual transmission connected to the 350 ci ( 93-97 LT1, 98-02 LS1 ). The Automatic transmission is a 4 speed. Now by normal, I assume you mean the 350 in a 91+ Caprice, 1500 P/U, then yes it is the same 4 speed auto transmission. Depends upon year of the Z28 and the year of the "Normal" 350, but chances are, they'll match up. The lt-1 (93-97) camaros used either a 4l60e auto trans or a 5 or 6 speed manual depending on the year. I 98 when they switched to the ls1 they changed the 4l60e for the application. not sure of manual trans changes though.
The bolt pattern on the back of the 2.8L doesn't match the 4.3L transmission bellhousing.
No, different bolt pattern.
