Bad transmissions.
crysler (dodge is owned by crysler) is notorious for bad transmissions so you might need to get another
No..... But they can have problems just like any other trans.
The starter seems prone to going bad. We are having starter problems and I looked online and saw page after page of other people having the same issue with all years of the Dodge Caravan.
The power door locks on a Dodge Caravan can stop working if the fuse is bad. Check the power door lock relay fuse that is located in the engine compartment on most Dodge Caravans. It should be next to the battery.
The people is bad
No.No.
Ford by far they are the most reliable and will last the longest. dodge is powerful but they usally don't last long and have bad transmissions. Chevy is good but they don't have as much power as a ford.
The pulley has probably gone bad. This is very common for Caravans. Try having the pulley replaced and see if that solves the problem.
I have been told by a mopar service manager that they have to replace the tranny's quite often in the newer chargers and magnums as they are weak, my son has a 2008 charger R/T with the 5.7 hemi and his went out at 55,000 miles.
They aren't the best. As far as the transmissions in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks and having a programmer, there's a good chance your transmission won't last. I've seen it several times- my boyfriend is on his 2nd transmission and will soon need another rebuild. They say those transmissions are only built to withstand stock power but... I have an 2006 Dodge 3/4 with the Cummins and it's STOCK with 93,000 miles. It doesn't always shift when it should and sometimes doesn't shift at all. The transmission fluid isn't the red color it's supposed to be so, I'll be dumping money into it soon.
Possibly your transmission isn't shifting out of 1st or 2nd. This is the 'safety default' when the Speed Sensor in the transmission goes bad. About $150 for a Transmission shop to fix (tranny doesn't need to be pulled). They can test for this externally via the diagnostic port.
