∙ 10y agoActually the gravity cannot affect the suns movement. But without gravity, every planet would stop orbiting and sail off out of here in a straight line.
Gravity affects the movement of water by pulling it downward, allowing it to flow downhill and form bodies of water like rivers and lakes. In the case of ice, gravity causes it to flow very slowly over long periods of time, known as ice flow, especially in glaciers where the ice slowly moves downhill under its own weight.
Factors that can affect mass movement include slope steepness, amount of rainfall, soil type, vegetation cover, seismic activity, and human activities such as deforestation and construction. These factors can weaken the stability of the slope and increase the likelihood of mass movement events like landslides and rockfalls.
The main force that affects the horizontal movement of air is the pressure gradient force, which drives air from areas of higher pressure to areas of lower pressure. Other factors such as the Coriolis effect (due to Earth's rotation) and friction with the surface can also influence the direction and speed of horizontal air movement. These forces collectively contribute to the complex patterns of wind flow in Earth's atmosphere.
Having two moons orbiting Earth would have a minimal impact on Earth's gravity because the gravitational force between Earth and the moons would be relatively weak. The effect on tides and the Earth's rotation might be more significant due to the additional gravitational pull exerted by the second moon.
Earths gravity keeps the moon from flying off in the same way the sun keeps earth in balance.
One theory is that gravity pulls the old heavier ocean floor with more force than the newer lighter sea floor.
The four factors that affect mass movement are gravity, slope angle, water content, and the type of material involved. Gravity acts as the driving force, while steeper slopes and higher water content increase the likelihood of mass movement. The type of material, such as rocks, soil, or debris, plays a role in how quickly and extensively mass movement occurs.
Newton's three laws of motion describe how forces affect motion. They have nothing to do with gravity, except that gravity is one of many possible causes of force.

The movement described in the story "Gravity" by David Leavitt is the emotional journey of a woman reconnecting with her past and coming to terms with her present reality while reflecting on her failed relationship. The movement symbolizes the weight of her emotions and the pull of memories that continue to affect her life.
