Why would your car rumble at idle?

Bad gas. Could be a natural function of the idle. If the sound is loud, rough, and uneven, yet the car runs smoothly everywhere else, it might be the way the car is tuned.

Rough idle runs rough Lincoln town car 1998?

I have 1998 a Lincoln town car with the same problem.. It idles rough when you start, then smooths out once it warms up and you give it gas. From what I am reading its either an oxygen sensor or you have vacume leak in one of your hoses by the manifold.

How much gas do cars use at idle?

Answerit uses some gas, not too much, but enough. It depends on the car for example a Toyota will use less fuel at idle than a city bus. Motor size, where you bought the gas, the vehicles RPM @ idle, and the Octane level of the gas will determine how much is burned.

1986 Honda accord Gas in the oil system?

If you have gas in your oil, then the probablity is very high that your head gasket is blown. I bet your car is running very rough, difficult to maintain idle, and acceleration is poor.

Why does the car turns off if you are not pushing on the gas?

Check your idle, your idle might be too low so it is stalling your car.

Why does your 2000 Camry idle rough while pumping gas into the tank?

It is because you are leaving your car running while pumping gas into it, if you didn't notice how everyone else at the gas station turns their car off, you should, it is dangerous to do so and you should discontinue no matter what car it is you are fueling or whether it is acting right or not about it. their is a chance you could blow your car up, and the gas station along with it...

Why does my car idle rough when I'm parked or picking up speed or driving slowly?

I'm confused. Basically, your car can idle in only two ways, either in park or in gear with your foot on the brake and the vehicle motionless. The way the car behaves in those conditions is very telling to a trained mechanic. Some people will say the car is still idling if you take your foot off the brake but don't give it gas. (If the idle is set to high, the car might move pretty quick. That is undesirable.) That might be a third idle situation. Your car is not idling if it's accelerating. And if you are coasting and slowing down from cruising speed, the engine rpm will be higher than idle speed. So, that's not idling, either. It sounds like your car is always running rough.

Why did your car start going without you stepping on the gas pedal?

because all vehicles have an idle. Without an idle your car would not stay running.
