215/60R-16 have a sidewall height of 5.08" (129mm) and total diameter of 26.16" 664.4mm) Now 225/60R16 sidewall 5.31" (535mm) diameter 26.63" (676.4mm) a 0.47" (12mm) difference, taller. 60mph on your speedometer is a true speed of 61.08mph. Remember the '60' is the aspect ratio, % of width. That's why they are taller even with the '60' on both. Just about 1/2 inch. Presented for informational purposes, no opinion on if you can change.
I just put Michelin P215 60 HR 16 Primacy MXV4 tires on our 2004 Sebring Convertible GTC with stock wheels. Car drives and handles much better.
if you are a redneck you can do anthing you want to do
No the rim and tire are too big.
No, that would cause the speedometer to be off as there would be 1" difference in diameter. You can replace 215/55-16 with 235/50-16 which would both be 25.3" in diameter. You must keep the diameter as close as possible to the same 25.3" diameter as the OEM tire.
Nope. the R15 and R16 are the size of the rim on the vehicle. they are not interchangable and must be the same.
Yes you can. The difference is minimal but handling and speedometer reading may change slightly. The manufacturer has calibrated the vehicle to the recommended size so you are better off to stick to original specs. The only reason I would make the change is if the new tires were free. Don't mix sizes on the vehicle.
The tire sidewall will list the max pressure. Check the owners manual or the driver door jamb sticker for the correct pressure for a vehicle
the last two digits, the 16, indicate the rim size. as long as the rims size matches, your tire will fit (and lets be reasonable here, I'm not talking putting mudding tires on a car...)
Not with out changing the rims. a 205/70/R15 is 205mm tall 7 inches wide and 15 inches is the rim size. So with tire size 215/60/R16 you would need a different rim. This is not even taking in to account that you might have clearance issues or issues with your speed sensor.Opposing Opinion.Yes, you can switch to this size tire/wheel combination. The 16" combo will be .14" smaller in diameter and .39" wider. You speedometer will be .3 mph too fast. This swap will work with no clearance issues at all.
Replace will replace one instance of what you want to replace. Replace All will replace all instances of what you want to replace.
The future tense of "replace" is "will replace" or "shall replace." Example: "I will replace the broken part tomorrow."
You don't have to replace the sink when you replace your cabinets. If the sink works, does not leak, and suits your aesthetic, there is no need to replace it.
