you have to be 14 and a half to start drivers education and around 15 to get your permit, i just started drivers education and i am pretty sure of this answer.

If you are enrolled in Drivers Ed, then you can get your permit when your 15 with a waver. But if you aren't, then you have to be 15 1/2 and take a test.
