The fact is that you cannot insure something that you don't own because if the property is damaged you have no financial loss so the company cannot pay you and since they don't have a contract with the owner of the vehicle they can't pay them either. If you buy insurance on a vehicle you don't own then you have committed material misrepresentation on the insurance application and the insurance contract is null and void. Simply don't do it.
