∙ 12y agoIt all depends. Both you and the car that is double parked are responsible. when you do hit a car that is double parked, and the person is not at his/her car, make sure you leave a note saying that you hit his/her car. why leave a note? ITS AGAINST THE LAW TO LEAVE A CRIME SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes. If you cause any damage with your car, accidentally or intentionally, you are required, at minimum, to leave a note at the scene identifying yourself and providing a way for the injured party to contact you.
Yes, if you leave the scene of an accident then you will have to prove that you did no damage.
If you so happen to hit a parked car you should not leave. You should remain present until the owner of the car shows up. You should then explain to him what happened and cover all of the costs of damage. If you leave the scene im sure you will feel guilty and the person whose car you hit would be left very upset. Anyway hoped this helped. Have a great day!
As soon as you leave the scene of the accident you have committed the crime of "hit & run."
You can get caught if you hit a parked car and leave if there are witnesses. Also, forensic evidence can be used to track you down.
It is best to leave it parked and it is possible for it to roll away, depending on the car.
B - leave a note
first of all how could you not "know" you hit it? Its better to be late then never.
leave a note with your info or call the police
He'd certainly be the first one questioned, but if you ASKED him if you could borrow the car, he'll probably point you out as the driver. And if you did NOT ask, then it was auto theft, which will be a separate crime from "leaving the scene of an accident".
Leave a note with your name and number if you can't find the owner.
