Good question! I know when I was in college and high school my parents owned our cars but I always had one at school that I drove. To make certain you can, call or e-mail your prospective insurers and ask the question. Also, if they say that you would be covered, get it in writing and make sure that you are one of the covered drivers on the policy. Usually a policy will either specify who is covered by name in the policy, or they will cover all persons living in the household so if someone borrows the vehicle they are covered under the owner's policy. Good luck with your search and compare quotes. It may help save you some money. Don't rely on what you think is covered, get it first hand from the insurance company and get it in writing to protect yourself.
No! Parents can not change school policies. may be allowed the opportunity to express their opinion but does not mean it will change the policy.
Never OK.
the most important reason school do not have a standardized dress code or school uniform policy is the resistance school would receive from parents ans students.
Its doubtful. Most public school districts require a parents signature for registration.
No, you must still have parents permission, at least in my old school. I guess it just depends on your schools policy.
You have the option to add your teen to your auto insurance policy, or you can buy a "stand alone" policy from an agency that specializes in providing insurance for teens. Companies that provide car insurance for teens only place certain restrictions and requirements on teens' driving habits, such as attending driving school and not driving after dark, which allows them to keep rates down.
Maybe. :) It depends on the insurance policy, actually. It depends also on how old you are, and why the insurance is covering you. Some policies are written to only cover full-time students, but most policies that you don't buy through the school will cover you anyway. Hopefully you are still covered, but the only way to know for sure is to ask your parents' insurance agent.
A Law? No School Policy which can be enforced, Yes. But its not like someone can put you in handcuffs for not covering your book.
If they are listed on your policy then they should be covered. Most insurance companies have a setting that is designated as "away at school" and is a lesser rate. If they are no longer a resident or a dependent, then they should be covered if they borrowed your vehicle as coverage is afforded for drivers that you loan your vehicle to.
Yes, if your daughter is on the policy, either disclosed as a driver away at school in another state or she is on the policy and is just travelling to that other state and will be there no longer than 5 days in most cases.
It is a policy that your school goes by. if you break those rules you wont be allowed on another PC at your school.
