yes it can be... my brother had to pay a fee until he got it back
Let's expand a bit on the above answer. Not having car insurance is not an offence. Driving a vehicle on public roadways without insurance is an offence. If you are convicted of this offense and issued a fine, and if you do not pay this fine in a manner prescribed by the court, your drivers licence can be suspended until you pay the fine, at which time you will be required to pay an additional $150.00 for reinstatement. This is for the province of Ontario, Canada. Many other jurisdictions have similar laws.
You can't get car insurance if your drivers license has been suspended.
No, clearly not.
Yes, your license can be suspended and usually is when you receive a ticket for no Insurance. The fact youwere driving without insurance has no bearing on whether you have a car or not.
There are some companies that will offer insurance if your license is suspended, your best bet is a local insurance company that represents multiple insurance companies.
no
Yes.
I think it depends on your car insurance policy.
With a suspended insurance license, I would not because you will be breaking a law. With a suspended drivers license you can sell insurance.
Some companies can offer you a policy even with a suspended license. I would contact an independent insurance agent that represents multiple carriers.
Not in Canada. If your license is suspended, then any insurance claim that resulted from you driving while suspended would not be covered. If the car was damaged and it was parked and not being operated, then that is covered. But not if you are driving it.
No because when it is suspended it is taken away from you. Yes...in all 50 states, you can buy, own and register a car even if you are suspended. However, most dealerships will require a valid license and insurance to purchase a car. Most insurance companies will also give policies even if you are suspended ie. progressive.
You can't drive without insurance. You can get your license suspended if caught.
