I guess, if you want to pay money for no real reason...you'd be better off throwing the money out of the window. They'd be more than happy to obliege.
Ok, i don't want to edit the answer above, would like to add to it though. :)
You can in fact get auto insurance without having a vehicle, the insurance actually covers "you" in case there is an accident, also legally helps out when pulled over by our "friendly" critters on duty, i do believe that it covers the vehicle that you are driving at the time also. So, my advise is to get insurance just to avoid being bent over by the judicial system, cuz we know how much they like to see our behinds!!
