They are replaced when they go bad.
There pay not be any power under acceleration if o2 sensors are bad, or if certain plugs are blown. This can also be caused by a bad battery or starter.Ê
Usually because the car is burning too much fuel, or running rich. It can be caused by o2 sensors, throttle module problems, as well as other things. What i would do is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes to clear the driving parameters. Then see if the problem goes away. I had a bad battery cause my parameters to get fudged up and after i replaced the battery the problem persisted. The dealer told me bad o2 sensors but after i took it home and reset the batter for 5 minutes it was fine and never had the problem again.
All O2 sensors are threaded into the exhaust system at various points. Upstream O2 sensors are located before the catalytic converter(s) and downstream O2 sensors are located after the catalytic converter(s).
There are four o2 sensors on a montero sport.
Maybe the maf or bad o2 sensors it should have 4
When a O2 sensor goes bad your check engine light will go on and set a code.
to change o2 sensor ,you need to buy a o2 sensor socket from a parts store then disconnect neg terminal on battery ,after that disconnect wire connecter on o2 sensor and remome o2 sensor
The 2.5 has 2 O2 sensors (both on top of the engine) and the 3.5 has 4 O2 sensors (two on top, and two under the car).
The o2 sensors screw in. There is a special socket for removing the 02 sensors with a slot in the side to clear the wiring.
All the O2 sensors are threaded into the exhaust system at various points.
Either sensor can fail.
