Yes, you can cancel a policy anytime you want to if you are the policyholder. I always suggest that you wait until the adjuster has a chance to look at the vehicle and determine if it is totaled or not before cancelling. Speak with your agent about this matter as well. In some states you need to cancel the tag before cancelling the insurance or you will incur a fine. If it is financed you will also need to consult the finance company as well.
Depends on when it was cancelled. Before or after the accident? When did you get the cancellation notice? If you were cancelled before, then obviously you were uninsured. If the accident was your fault, then any costs are yours alone and not the insurance company's.
Car
Auto Insurance follows the car not the driver. My son's girlfriend was driving his car when they where in an accident and his insurance was responsible.
If an insurance code of 989 is shown on a police report car accident who does that person have car insurance with?
The benefits of auto insurance are that if a natural or human caused accident were to happen, you would be able to feel safe that your car will be repaired or replaced.
I would switch insurance carriers.
Auto insurance, and if you are hurt by the accident, then health insurance too, but you will need health insurance for the second to file a claim for injuries, and health insurance is optional. Auto insurance is required by law. If it is someone else's fault however, then they must pay for all the damage to you, your car, and themselves.
If you change your registration to that state, you'll have to change your insurance with it. Keeping your car registered in a state where you do not reside can result in your policy being cancelled, or you getting a ticket for not having your car registered where you reside. (Especially if you get into an accident.)
They can
maybe if you use your car to travel, and then the insurance is cancelled they arrest the owner of the car.......
You get auto insurance for accident prone drivers the same way as normal drivers. You will need to provide relevant car details and your driving history information and then receive insurance policy quotes. Insurance premiums for accident prone drivers are generally much higher.
You do not pay a deductible for the car that you hit. Your liability coverage does not have a deductible.
