If the furnace was damaged by a covered peril, typically fire, wind hail, lightning etc., it would be covered subject to your deductible and other terms of your policy such as possible depreciation.

If the furnace is just old and defective due to normal wear and tear then t is not covered. It would be a homeowners normal and expected maintenance responsibility.
