If your vehicle has dual circuit brakes then they may be uneven pressure in both circuits. Some cars have a sensor to detect this. Try bleeding the system. Jack up the back of the vehicle and start at the wheel that is furthest from the servo.

Lincoln mark VIII abs light is keep coming on after changing brake pads?

Maybe when you changed the pads some fluid came out of the ABS reservoir that is in behind the drivers' side wheel well. Did the traction contol light come on too? Sometimes you just have to unplug the ABS relay and plug it back for the light to go out, that is behind the cowling in the drivers' side wheel well too.

What causes the ABS light to stay on?

The ABS light might stay on because of a sensor issue. The braking system of most vehicles has several sensors that can cause the light to come on and stay on. This could also be a problem with brake pads or calipers.
